In July 2023, Northwestern Elements will undergo a significant upgrade to improve the overall look and feel of Elements. We plan for the upgrade to take place beginning on Monday, July 24 at 7 am through Wednesday, July 26 at 11 am.
There will be an interruption for all users of Northwestern Elements during that time. Elements will be read-only or completely down during this time. Please do not manually enter any publications, or claim or reject publications for users. Any changes you make during this time WILL NOT be transferred to the new version of Elements.
The URL to Elements will not change. User roles in Elements will shift slightly, but we do not expect there to be any issues for our users.
The Elements homepage has been redesigned to create an action-oriented dashboard-style experience. The familiar ‘My Actions’ section has been re-vamped adding new visuals and additional guidance information to ensure researchers are empowered to complete key tasks.
The Elements menu has been rearchitected to focus on key use cases, providing users with a clear overview of the functionality available to them, while the new design creates more space within the menu and improves readability. There is a new ‘menu search’ to allow you to quickly find the page you need.
Northwestern Elements is a warehouse of scholarly products. This web-based system allows for a continuous, dynamic feed of publication information from multiple sources. Elements is provided by Galter Health Sciences Library & Learning Center. There is no public interface for the data added to Northwestern Elements. Profiles can be viewed by any other user in the Northwestern Elements system.
