A new on-demand rapid document delivery service has been added to supplement our existing library collections and interlibrary loan (ILL) services. Rapid document delivery, provided by Article Galaxy Scholar, is available through the library catalog, PubMed and other library-licensed literature databases. For the best experience, we strongly recommend you install the LibKey Nomad browser extension, which provides seamless access to open access and subscribed journal content, whether accessing journals from library databases or directly from publisher websites.
Both rapid document delivery and interlibrary loan services are available to Feinberg faculty, students, and staff.
Non-subscribed content will appear on the library search results page with a "Request PDF" link.
For non-subscribed content, you will have the option to request a scan of the article. Content from selected Elsevier journals is available in this initial phase of implementation. Articles available through rapid document delivery (Article Galaxy Scholar) will be sent to your email and available for download within five minutes of less. After downloading, please save the PDF locally for future use to avoid duplicate work.
Article Galaxy Scholar now sends the article to your browser within one minute for you to view without having to go to your email to initially access the article. The article will also be sent to your Northwestern University email address.
Check your Northwestern University email for a message from "Reprints Desk". This email contains a link to download your article. Once you are emailed your article link, you will only be able to download the article from this link 5 times. We recommend saving the article to your computer or mobile device as soon as you get the article and naming the file something easily reconizable.
Articles are available using the provided link for 30 days to download the article. If you don't receive your article in a timely manner, check your SPAM filter and add "reprintsdesk.com" to your list of permitted senders.
Articles not eligible for rapid document delivery will be delivered by traditional ILL services which typically take 1-4 days.
