Using SciENcv to Create an NIH Biosketch and Other Support Documents

This guide describes how to use the NIH's SciENcv platform to create a "Common Form" biosketch and Other Support documents

View a draft or certify and download

"Saving" and downloading a SciENcv biosketch will change when the new Common Form sketch is implemented.

  • When all fields in the sketch are complete, the DOWNLOAD PDF button will change from grey to blue
    • NOTE: This functionality is disabled in the NIH Biosketch PREVIEW Common Form. It will be activated when the final form is complete and added to SciENcv. Screenshots here are from the NSF version of the biosketch, so you can see the functionality.
  • You will have to certify your sketch to download the PDF for submission to the NIH with your grant proposal documents
    • You certify by clicking on the DOWNLOAD PDF button, then read and click CERTIFY
    • The investigator MUST certify themselves. Certification cannot be done by your delegate(s)

  • However, you can view and download a sketch as a draft at any time while you're working on it, to see the total page length and how the fields appear in the PDF document
  • Click on VIEW DRAFT to download and save a draft version.
