My NCBI

An introductory guide to the navigation and use of the National Center for Biotechnology Information's My NCBI tool on PubMed.

Editing Preferences

You can edit your preferences within My NCBI to change how items will display. For example, you can highlight your search terms when they appear within search results. You can also change the default display of references when you click on a reference link from within your search result set. To change your preferences:

1. Log in to My NCBI. If you're not on your My NCBI home page, click your username in the upper right corner and choose "Dashboard" from that menu.

2. In your My NCBI page, select "NCBI Site Preferences" from the links near the top right of the page.

3. Click on the links for the preferences you'd like to change.  You can change preferences for almost any NCBI database.

4. After changing settings on any preference page, click the "Save" button on that page to see your changes in your MyNCBI preferences page.
