Publishing Life Cycle

Choose a journal: Ideally, you will have an idea where you want to publish your research before you write your article.

Draft your article: Keep your target journal in mind to make sure the style, structure, and audience are all a good fit.

Submit your paper: Check the specific submission requirements and carefully read author instructions. Submission often includes writing a compelling cover letter.

Peer review: If your paper has potential, the journal editor will send it to two or three experts to judge the validity, significance, and originality of your work.

Make revisions: The editor and reviewers will provide advice on what changes you will make to your article.

Article acceptance and publication: After acceptance is production, which includes copy editing and creation of proofs, and you'll sign a publishing agreement.
