Prism

Prism is an institutional repository for the research and scholarly output of Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University

Confirm Account

Follow the directions below to confirm a Prism account.

  1. Log in to Prism by clicking on the grey button in the top right corner of the home page. PLEASE NOTE that a NetID is needed to access Prism.

  2. Click on the empty box to accept Prism's terms of use, then click on Complete registration

  3. Complete ForgeRock verification by clicking on Allow. There is also the option to save this permission choice by clicking on the empty box next to Save Consent

Make Profile Private

Making a profile hidden means it cannot be found by other users. Public profiles can be found by searching username, full name, and affiliation. Making an email hidden prevents the profile from being found by searching the email address. NOTE that a public profile is a necessary prerequisite for being invited to/joining a community in Prism.

  1. Log in to Prism by clicking on the grey button in the top right corner of the home page. PLEASE NOTE that a NetID is needed to access Prism.

  2. Click on the dropdown menu to the right of the name, then select Profile.

  3. Scroll down to Preferences.
  4. Under Profile visibility select Hidden. Public profiles can be found by other users via searches on username, full name, and affiliation, while hidden profiles cannot be found by other users (for sharing or otherwise).

  5. Under Email visibility select Hidden. Public email visibility enables a profile to be found by email address.
  6. Save the changes by clicking on the purple Update preferences button at the bottom.

Notifications

  1. Once logged in to Prism, click on the dropdown menu to the right of the name, then select Notifications.

  2. The default setting for Notifications is ON. To change this setting, toggle the option to OFF. Please note: Currently, there is no option for changing the primary email address that receives these notifications (not even in profile settings).

  3. Click on the purple Update notification preferences button to save the change, or click on the grey Cancel button to abandon it.
