  • ORCID Requirements for Senior/Key Personnel:

    1. Enter their ORCID iD in the Persistent Identifier (PID) section of SciENcv Common Forms.
    2. Link their ORCID iD to their eRA Commons Personal Profile.
  • Use of SciENcv: NIH will require Science Experts Network Curriculum Vitae (SciENcv) to complete:

    • Biographical Sketches
    • Current and Pending (Other) Support
    • NIH Biographical Sketch Supplement
      (All must be digitally certified PDFs for application submissions.)
  • Deadline: Compliance is required for all submissions by May 25, 2025.

Connecting eRA Commons with ORCID

Connecting Your eRA Commons Profile to ORCID

Linking your eRA Commons profile to your ORCID iD ensures that your grant information and research outputs are properly connected and streamlined. Follow these steps to connect your accounts.


1. Log in to Your eRA Commons Account

  1. Visit eRA Commons and log in with your credentials.
  2. Navigate to your personal profile by clicking your name in the top-right corner.

2. Access the ORCID Linking Section

  1. In your profile, locate the section labeled ORCID iD.
  2. Click the Edit button (pencil icon) or the Link ORCID iD button, depending on your profile view.

3. Link Your ORCID iD

  1. You will be redirected to the ORCID website.
  2. Log in to your ORCID account, or create one if you don’t already have an ORCID iD (it’s free).
  3. Authorize eRA Commons to access your ORCID profile by clicking Authorize.

4. Verify the Connection

  1. After authorization, you will be redirected back to eRA Commons.
  2. Your ORCID iD should now appear in the ORCID section of your eRA Commons profile.

PLEASE NOTE: After creating or connecting your ORCID iD please close all tabs and windows of the browser to ensure a full logout from the system.
